Description
This article describes how to view and manage or edit information about a Cloud Network Domain and its associated VLAN using the Administrative UI. This applies only to MCP 2.0 locations as MCP 1.0 locations use separate Cloud Network and VLAN entities.
Prerequisites:
- This article applies only to MCP 2.0 locations. For details on MCP 1.0, see: How to Manage a Cloud Network in a MCP 1.0 Data Center
- All users can view information about a Cloud Network Domain. However, the management functions are only available to the Primary Administrator and users who have been assigned the Network Role.
- You cannot downgrade a Network Domain type from Advanced to Essentials if you are using any of the features associated with Advanced Network Domains:

- You cannot downgrade a Network Domain type from Enterprise to either Advanced or Essentials if you are using any of the features associated with Enterprise Network Domains:
- Detached VLANs - Introduction to Cloud Network Domains and VLANs
- Static Routes - Introduction to Routing, Network Domain Static Routes, and SNAT in MCP 2.0 Locations
- Network Domain SNAT Exclusions - Introduction to Routing, Network Domain Static Routes, and SNAT in MCP 2.0 Locations
Content / Solution:
From the Home page, click on the Data Center where the Network Domain you wish to Edit or Manage is located:
The Data Center dashboard will be displayed. Select the Network Domain you wish to edit or manage from the list:
The Network Domain dashboard will be displayed. Click on the Edit Network Domain button on the left side of the screen:
The Edit Network Domain dialog popup will appear:
You can now edit the Name, Description, and/or Type of the Network Domain. Once you have made the desired changes, click the Save button:
Note: The Network Domain ID will remain constant
Note: You cannot downgrade the Network Domain type from "Advanced" to "Essentials" if the Network Domain has the following 'Advanced' functionalities enabled:Anti-Affinity Rules - How to Manage Server Anti-Affinity

Note: You cannot downgrade the Network Domain type from "Enterprise" to "Advanced" or "Essentials" if the Network Domain has the following functionalities enabled:
- Detached VLANs - Introduction to Cloud Network Domains and VLANs
- Static Routes - Introduction to Routing, Network Domain Static Routes, and SNAT in MCP 2.0 Locations
Otherwise, you will see the following error message, detailing what functionalities are blocking the change:
The System will display a success message:
The changes will be displayed:
Note: The Network Domain's ID will remain constant.
