Description

This article explains how to power off a Server that is a Source Server in a DRS Consistency Group.

It is important to understand that all DRS Snapshots for Servers in the Consistency Group will be unavailable while the Source Server is shut down or powered off.

Prerequisites:

  1. Server must be the Source Server in a DRS Consistency Group. 

Content / Solution:

  1. From the Home Page, select the Data Center where the Cloud Server you want to power off is located:


  2. The Data Center dashboard will be displayed. Select the Network Domain where the Cloud Server you want to manage is located:


  3. The Network Domain dashboard will be displayed. Click on the Server tab to expand the list of Servers, then click on the Source Server that you would like to be powered off:
     

  4. The Server dashboard will be displayed. Click the Stop button in the upper left-hand side of the screen:


  5. The system will display the Shutdown Dialog. You must select Hard Stop:

    Important Note: To avoid interruption to your DRS service, power the Source Server back on as soon as possible! 

  6. The system will display a message indicating that the Server Shutdown is in progress:
     
     

  7. The system will indicate that the Server is being powered off:


  8. Once complete, the system will display a success message:


  9. The Server will be powered off:
     

    Important Note

    To avoid any interruption to your DRS Service, please power the Source Server back on as soon as possible. All DRS Snapshots for Servers in the Consistency Group will be unavailable while the Source Server is shut down or powered off.
