Description
This article describes how to configure an additional NIC in Microsoft Windows OS after it has been added to a Cloud Server. Note the specific steps vary between Windows 2008 and Windows 2012.

Windows 2008
Click on the Start button, then right click on Network > Properties:
Select “Change adapter settings”:
On the new NIC, in this case “Local Area Connection 2”, right click it, then select “Properties”:
Select “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” > Properties:
From the CloudControl UI, collect the new NIC IP address and subnet mask information:
Enter the IPv6 information, IP and subnet mask into the properties windows similar to below. Click OK when completed:
Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” > Properties:
Enter the IPv4 information, then click the OK button:
Click the Close button:
Click on Start button > Command Prompt:
Enter “ipconfig /all | more” to verify the configuration is correct:
Windows 2012
For Windows 2012 R2 systems, click on the Start button on the lower left hand side of the window:
For non-R2 systems, move your mouse to the lower left corner until you see the Start menu, then click on the Start menu:
Click on the Control Panel tile:
If you don’t see the Network and Sharing Center on the upper right hand side, select View by > Small icons:
Select Network and Sharing Center:
Select Change adapter settings:
On the new NIC, “Ethernet 2” in this case, right click it, then select Properties:
Select “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), then click Properties:
Enter the IP address and subnet mask information that you found on the CloudControl UI, then click the OK button:
Select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties:
Enter the IP address and subnet mask information, then click the OK button:
Click the Close button:
On the taskbar, select PowerShell:
Enter “ipconfig /all | more” to verify the new IP address configuration:
